Getting together for the holidays once again, was a real pain in the butt. Though with every pain comes a price and luckily it was a good price. I received several heart warming gifts and I sadly didn't get an archery set like I wanted but received a whole bunch of other gifts I mostly wanted. You can ask me the gifts later or in an e-mail, for I don't want to waste the room I have for that information. In other news New Years was a smashing success, and my grandparents were off at a casino leaving the house to my family. Who by the way owns the house and my grandparents are big fat jerks, but can't mention it to them or I will be split in two and cut in quarters if that does happen. Hope every one had a good awakening on New Years Day, as I did. Sadly though I woke up today with a huge ear infection. Not a pleasant way to spend the2nd day of the year, but good if you want to do nothing all day. My Science Fair Project is nearing completion as I have till the 11th, or was it the 19th? Anyway, and my Social Studies Essay hasn't even begone but will take me an hour because of the resources I have. As I have a busy schedule for the next weekexpect delays in responses and all that stuff. To come on the 7th is a Last Quarter Moon! Last week's pole, or week before that's pole, states that people who voted mostly had either books, games, or electronics on their list. All set at 33%. This is Leedove saying Happy New Year and hope it's a good one!

---Funny Fact---
When you receive a cool gift such as Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, you realize you've missed a lot of stuff when you were really little. First let's just say there was a really easy questions and than there is the, "this is so easy, it's really hard to miss this", questions. I had the 2nd one. The question was, True or False: This shape is a convex shape? To view the shape click here; Non-Convex Shape. How hard is it too know what a convex is!? Obviously it's very hard. LOL

Curry-Crumbed Pork Chops
In addition to providing excellent favor, brushing these pork chops with a yogurt mixture helps keep the lean meat moist and tender. They're topped with a deliciously crispy curry-and-bread crumb crust.
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons thinlly sliced green onion
2 bone-in center-cut rib pork chops (3/4 inch thick)
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/3 cup panko*
1 teaspoon curry powder
1) Heat over to 375 degrees F. Combine yogurt, mustard, salt and pepper in small bowl. Reserve one-fourth of the yogurt mixture; stir green onion into remaining yogurt mixture. Brush reserved yogurt mixture onto both sides of pork chops.
2) Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Cook pork 4 to 6 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Remove pork place on foil-lined baking sheet.
3) Combine panko and curry powder; stir into drippings in skillet. Spread over top of pork.
4) Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until pork is pale pink in center. Serve with yogurt sauce.
*Tip: Panko are coarse Japanese bread crumbs usually found next to other bread crumbs in the supermarket.

Per Serving: 310 calories, 16 g total fat (4 g saturated fat), 26 g protein, 15 g carbohydrate, 60 mg cholesterol, 465 mg sodium, 1 g fiber.

Darkness of the Owls

Chapter 1

Night is a very special time of day for several people. Why, you ask? It just is my dears. And for these people, it's the same as any other day. 5 girls and 5 boys to be exact called themselves the "O.W.L.S.".
"O.W.L.S." was not only abbreviated for Over-Worked-Lexington-Students, it also was their symbol. These special students were definitely owls, physically and mentally!
Impossible you say? I disagree straight out, for I have seen 9 owls lined up in a row on a branch, peering into my window. Where was the tenth one you ask? I'm that tenth owl, Skyden Raven! Saw-Whet Owls are my favorite; because that's the type of owl I am. Their big beady eyes, small wings, and a small body make the Saw-Whet Owl the most adorable owl.
I hopped out the window in my owl state to join the rest of the birds perched on the limb. As we took off into the darkness on a no-moon night, only cats and dogs could see our figures. We are the O.W.L.S., and the darkness of the skies is our kingdom.
